Battery running low on your child's dokiPal?

dokipal's battery is 800 mAh and is built to last up to 48 hours of usage. However, tracking mode, frequency of location tracking and even the brightness of the screen can make the battery work harder and thus decrease its lifespan.

dokiPal uses smart location tracking to gain a balance between accurate location tracking and battery life.

Follow these quick tips below to save battery and prolong your dokiPal's battery life.

dokiPal uses smart location tracking to gain a balance between accurate location tracking and battery life.

Follow these quick tips below to save battery and prolong your dokiPal's battery life.

Change your location tracking power mode

Insert the Doki SIM into dokiPal and turn the watch on. A QR code will appear, scan it with the Doki App to pair the watch.

If you've turned on the watch before putting the Doki SIM in, don't worry! You can put the sim card in now and this screen will appear. You can edit the settings from here and follow the same instructions below.

Standard mode: Prioritizes GPS tracking but requires more power, depleting the battery at a quicker rate. GPS tracking is more accurate but also slower than Network location tracking

Smart Tracking Mode: Prioritize network location tracking, which results in faster tracking. This mode uses less battery consumption too.

Power Saving: Network tracking that is less accurate but overall the most battery efficient. Use this mode when dokiPal is still in use but running low on battery.

dokiPal uses smart location tracking that detects whenever a child is moving to track location information but also conserve battery life.

On Doki App, swipe up the child menu and tap Power Mode

Select the power mode you'd like to use. Options further down the list use less battery but result in less accurate location tracking

Location Tracking

Author Maxim Tourou / Category Architecture / Published: Apr-05-2018

Location tracking is at the heart of dokiPal; it's always the first thing you see when you open the Doki App! But what if you wanted more control and wanted to get notified everytime a child enters or leaves an area? This is where Alert Area shines.

Alert area allows you to create geo-fences. This means that you can set times to get a notification whenever your child enters or leaves a certain location or area (e.g. school, a friend's home, park etc.)

If the dokiPal (or your child) is not within a pre-set area, you will receive a notification, making this an easy way to know when your child arrives at or leaves a certain area.

Below is a step-by-step guide on how to set up your very first Alert Area!

On Doki App, swipe up the child menu and tap Power Mode

Reduce brightness on dokiPal

Activating Doki SIM

Drag the lightbulbs to the left to reduce brightness. You can teach your kids to do this in times when a bright screen isn't needed (low-light areas)

If you are activating Doki SIM on an already paired watch, go to Profile > Sim Management on the Doki App and follow the same activation steps.

Within Sim Management, you can see account info, view all activated Sims and customize your account information dashboard. In addition, you can also change your payment method, review transaction history and also cancel the plan anytime.

Tip: Waking the screen too often also leads to shortened battery life. Teach your kids about battery-life and how important it is to always have battery on their dokiPal.
